I’m passionate about encouraging women in this season called motherhood, natural living, homeschooling, rocking my faith, loving my family with all I have, and chocolate.
Me? I married the boy next door. For reals. He was my little brother’s best friend and I’ve known him since I was five. He used to play in my backyard and shoot me with rubber bands, now I kiss him good morning every day. We were college sweethearts and have been married for six years. He is my best friend and he absolutely rocks my world.
I’m also mom to two amazing little people who bring me to the heights of joy, and the edge of my patience on a daily basis. My sweet boy was born last August (2014), and my daughter is a feisty, charming, determined little three-nager. My home birth babies have led me to all kinds of interesting natural parenting choices that I had no idea existed before I became a momma!
Likewise my love for God has been leading me on all kinds of awesome adventures. Motherhood turned my world upside down and deposited me back at Jesus’ feet with a baby in a ring sling. I’m so thankful for all he has done for me, and I can’t wait to see where this journey as a darling daughter of the King is headed.
One of those journeys includes a group I super love, which is MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). I’m the Coordinator of my local group and I also head up the nursery in my church. I’m so BLESSED to know the amazing mamas and ladies in my circle. They inspire me every day.
More? I was home schooled, earned my black belt in martial arts (became BFF’s with my future hubby there!), graduated from college with a B.A. in Accounting, got my C.P.A. license (phew!), worked 8 years as an Accountant, and have now “retired” to be a stay at home mom with my kiddos.
I also make my own laundry detergent. And deodorant. And wash my baby’s diapers. And do other sorta crunchy stuff like that. But it’s totally okay if you don’t do that kind of stuff. We’re all moms!
So yeah – that’s a little about my crazy, wonderful, beautiful everyday life. If you’re looking for the girl who has it all together, that isn’t me. I am a beautiful mess. A girl with messy closets, messy emotions, messy relationships, and a cupboard full of chocolate for the really hard days. I embrace life with arms wide open and a prayer for God’s grace!
If you need a little encouragement, some fun tips, or a place to rest your eyes while you enjoy your chocolate at nap time: you are most welcome friend.
Looking forward to getting to know you more!
